1978 The Sex Pistols arrive in San Antonio to play at Randy’s Rodeo, their largest US date so far, but the band is starting to fray. The band plays in a hail of spit, popcorn, beer cups and bottles. Allegedly, Sid Vicious hits an audience member over the head with his bass.
The San Antonio Express sets their headline as “Sex Pistols win S.A. Shootout”. Columnist Roddy Stinson couldn’t resist a politically incorrect jab, calling them a “Siamese twins freak show”.
