1982 During a concert in Des Moines, Iowa, Ozzy Osbourne attempted to bite the head off a live bat, thinking it was a fake. It was only when it started flapping its wings that he realised it was alive. After the show Ozzy was rushed to hospital for rabies injections.

2001 A memorial service was held for Kirsty MacColl who was killed in a boating accident on December 18, 2000, off the coast of Mexico. Friends and fans packed St. Martin-in-the-fields church in London.

2015 Edgar Froese, drummer for Tangerine Dream, died of a polmonary embolism in Austria aged 70.
